1. Modification of additives

Phenol stabilizers used in extrusion or calendering of PVC are often replaced by zinc stabilizers with low odor. Tin octanate, a heat stabilizer, is also commonly used in automotive PVC products due to its low odor and low atomization characteristics. Vegetable extracts, such as erucic acid and oleic acid, have much less odor than amine smoothing agents (used in food packaging materials such as polyolefins and styrenes) made from animal extracts.
2. Use more pure resins
In many plastics, especially in polyvinyl chloride, styrene, polyethyl acetate and acrylate, the residual trace single-digest produces an unpleasant odor. Those odors can be eliminated by using resins with few monomer residues.

3. Participating adsorbents
If a small amount of zeolite (an aluminosilicate adsorbent) is filled in the polymer, it can remove the odor of the data. Molecular adsorbents have been successfully used in polyolefin extrusion pipes, injection and extrusion blow-moulding containers, isolation packaging materials, extrusion packaging materials and sealing polymers. Molecular adsorbent powders can also be used as moisture absorbents in plastics to remove water vapor, which also contributes to the odor of plastic products.
